Cycladic Gem Wedding Photographer in Ios, Greece
Amy and Tom’s wedding at Cycladic Gem was spread across three days in Ios, beginning with their welcome party before the wedding day itself and finishing with a pool party.
With everyone staying and celebrating together, the whole weekend had a brilliant atmosphere from the start. Amy and Tom both got ready at Cycladic Gem before their ceremony in the venue’s stone amphitheatre, with the Aegean Sea stretching out behind them.
The setting is what I remember most about photographing this wedding. Cycladic Gem sits high above the water, with views across the cliffs and sea in almost every direction. We had perfect weather throughout the weekend, and later in the day everyone gathered for dinner at long tables beneath the trees before the celebrations continued overlooking the water.
I photographed the weekend digitally alongside 35mm film, combining documentary photography with a more editorial approach to the setting and portraits.
Photographing a Wedding at Cycladic Gem
One of the things I love about photographing weddings at Cycladic Gem is how much variety there is without ever needing to leave the venue. From the stone amphitheatre overlooking the Aegean to dinner beneath the trees, each part of the celebration has a completely different feel.
Amy and Tom celebrated across three days, which gave the whole wedding a really relaxed atmosphere. I photographed the celebrations across digital and 35mm film, capturing everything naturally while making the most of the Greek light, landscape and incredible views.
