Villa Catignano Wedding Photographer in Tuscany
Georgia and Jack’s wedding at Villa Catignano was the kind of celebration that had energy from the moment I arrived.
I joined them for two days in Tuscany, beginning with their welcome party before returning to the villa for the wedding itself on 3rd October 2025. With everyone staying and celebrating together, there was already a brilliant atmosphere before the wedding day had even begun.
The wedding ceremony took place in the gardens of Villa Catignano, surrounded by the warm Tuscan landscape and beautiful October sunshine. From there, the celebrations continued just a few steps away, bringing together an incredible mix of family and friends for a black tie wedding that felt elegant without ever becoming too formal.
What I remember most was the energy. Georgia and Jack were surrounded by people who were completely invested in enjoying the weekend with them, which made the whole celebration feel natural, lively and full of genuine moments.
I photographed the weekend digitally alongside 35mm film, combining documentary photography with a more editorial approach to the setting, styling and portraits.
Photographing a Wedding at Villa Catignano
From a photography point of view, Villa Catignano works brilliantly because the whole wedding weekend can unfold in one place. With Georgia and Jack both getting ready at the venue, I could move naturally between them and photograph the morning without anyone feeling rushed.
The gardens are one of the strongest parts of the venue. Georgia and Jack held their wedding ceremony outside, with the celebrations continuing just a few steps away afterwards. It meant the day flowed naturally and they never had to disappear from their guests for long periods.
For me, the best thing about photographing this wedding was the energy. There was such a good mix of family and friends, and the atmosphere built throughout the day. That suited the way I photograph weddings — documenting what is actually happening while also making the most of the Tuscan setting for a small number of more editorial portraits.
I also photographed parts of the weekend on 35mm film, which worked particularly well with the October sunshine, black tie styling and the warm tones of the villa.
Planning a Wedding at Villa Catignano?
If you’re planning a wedding at Villa Catignano, my biggest advice would be to make the most of having the whole celebration in one place. With space to get ready, hold the ceremony and celebrate at the villa, there’s no need to build unnecessary travel into the day.
From a photography point of view, I’d leave some flexibility in the timeline rather than planning every photograph for one fixed time. The gardens and surrounding Tuscan landscape change throughout the day, and having a little breathing room means we can make the most of the best light without taking you away from your guests for long.
Most importantly, give yourself time to actually enjoy the weekend. Georgia and Jack’s wedding worked so well because the celebration had already begun the day before, and by the wedding day everyone was completely invested in enjoying it together.
